Synopsis Sarah Francis (Beattie Edmondson) is a young woman whose life is a bit of a mess. The last thing she needs is someone else to look after, let alone someone who dribbles, snores and eats from the kitchen bin! Yet, like it or not, her Grandmother has bequeathed her a very spoilt pug, Patrick. As this four-legged interloper proceeds to cause chaos in all aspects of Sarah's life, something remarkable happens – Patrick, with all of his stubby, stumpy attitude, begins to turn her life around…
REVIEWS

Having a bad day? Patrick surely is your next feel-good movie to watch with cute pets and a typical but engaging storyline.

Patrick depicts a story between a spoilt pug that sleeps on a posh couch and is pampered with good food and lots of TLC, and a young woman whose life is in a mess — only to be made seemingly worse when her grandmother left her the dog as her dying wish.

The Good
At first, Patrick may seem like a typical movie about how the owner and the pet do not get along, and eventually they will grow to appreciate each other. But what makes the movie different is the fact that the plot ties in more story about Sarah’s life, especially her new job as a teacher and her relationships, where the pug plays a catalyst role.

Pug lovers or dog lovers or animal lovers are also in for a treat with quite a number of really good close-up shots of the cute creature that will make you go “awww”. It is definitely not easy to get animals to “act” but the movie brought out the character of the pug well, showing it to be mischievous but also human-like with a variety of emotions.

The (Not That) Bad
The ending is pretty predictable but it is still able to put tears in your eyes and a smile across your face. Humour is also injected into this comedy film which makes it enjoyable for people from all walks of life.

And The Summary
Having a bad day? Patrick surely is your next feel-good movie to watch with cute pets and a typical but engaging storyline.
