Korean and Mandarin Themesong for Mr. Go!

By InCinemas  /  10 Jul 2013 (Wednesday)
Just yesterday, the themesongs for Mr Go, sung by Girls' Generation's leader TaeYeon were released.

Mr Go is the most anticipated Korean film of 2013 and is a South-Korean stereoscopic 3D movie directed by Kim Yong-Hwa (200 Pounds Beauty), and a co-production with Hua Yi Brothers!

The movie is based on a famous Korean comic and tells the story of a gorilla becoming a baseball pro. Josie Xu (aka Xu Jiao), the young actress from CJ7 and Starry Starry Night, will play the lead role as a Chinese-Korean girl who befriends the sport-savvy primate. And popular Korean actor, Sung Dong-il as the materialistic sports agent.

The ambitious live action film was shot in stereoscopic 3D and will utilize a combination of motion capture performances and digital effects. Its $25 million budget makes it one of the most expensive South Korean films of all time.

In the short music video, we hear the angelic voice of TaeYeon blending well with the shots from the movie. Entitled 'Bye', this soothing ballad will definitely be crowd-favourite.

"Bye" (Korean Version)

"Bye" (Chinese Version)

Mr.Go opens InCinemas 25 July 2013!

Movie Synopsis
Young circus ringmaster Wei Wei has only bat-swinging gorilla Ling Ling to depend on as her only family member and friend when her grandfather dies in the Great Sichuan Earthquake, leaving behind an insurmountable debt. When a loan shark threatens to sell Ling Ling and the circus kids to cover the debt, Wei Wei (Xu Jiao) has no choice but to allow Ling Ling to be scouted in the Korean Baseball League by the materialistic sports agent Sung.

Ling Ling, now dubbed ‘Mr. Go’, becomes an instant hit with fans and leads his team Doosan to a miraculous winning streak. No pitcher can stand up to Mr. Go’s powerful single-handed swing, and they watch helplessly as the ball flies out of the park. His popularity grows so immensely that even the fans of his opposing teams cheer for him, and single handedly attracts worldwide media attention to the league. Wei Wei and Sung are stunned and blinded by the sudden success, and neglect to detect Ling Ling’s worsening knee injury, just as Japanese clubs are drafting ground breaking trade propositions…
