About Library Wars
Library Wars
is based on the Japanese light novel series by Hiro Arikawa, published between February 2006 and November 2007. As of April 2008, the original four novels and first volume of the spin-off series have sold over 1.25 million copies in Japan. It won the 2008 Seiun Award for Japanese long fiction in the fourth Japan Science Fiction convention.
In 2007, two different manga adaptations: Library Wars: Love & War by Kiiro Yumi (serialized in female orientated magazine Lala), and Library Wars: Spitfire! by Yayoi Furudori (serialized in male-orientated magazine Dengeki Daioh) were published. Subsequently, an anime television series adaptation (2008) and anime film adaptation (2012) were released.
