[InC-terview] Winning Awards isn't the top of Anthony Wong's list!

By InCinemas  /  07 Jan 2014 (Tuesday)

Hong Kong veteran actor Anthony Wong may be in show business for more than 20 years with numerous awards under his belt but to the actor, winning awards isn’t the top of his list.

Bagging the Best Actor award at the recent Macau International Movies Festival for his performance in Ip Man: The Final Fight, he told the reporters then that “winning awards is useless’ and ‘the most important thing is box office’.

During a phone interview with Singapore media for his upcoming film The Four 2 before its premiere on 9 January, the 51-year-old actor said, “If I win an award, of course I’ll be happy. But if I don’t, I won’t be too disappointed either.”

Known to be straightforward with his answers and quite often seen in the middle of a controversy (think recent TVB Anniversary Awards comment on Linda Chung), Wong isn’t fazed by criticisms nor backlash from netizens.

When asked about his thoughts on netizens criticizing his upcoming film The Four 2, the actor who plays Zhuge Zhen Wo said he doesn’t bother too much about the comments.

“Just let them say whatever they like. For example, even when a dish is served, there are some who like it and some who don’t,” he continued.

“There are some things that I just want to give my opinions and express myself. Some might like it but some might not. It doesn’t matter.”

Wong revealed that although there will not be major changes into his character for the sequel The Four 2, there will be more fight scequences from this actor that viewers can look forward to. “There isn’t much of a change in my character, just a change in the story.”

Besides Wong, The Four 2 also stars Crystal Liu Yifei, Deng Chao, Ronald Cheng and Collin Chou, opening InCinemas 9 January 2014!

Synopsis
When the four constables of the Divine Constabulary investigate a murder in the suburbs, they unexpectedly stumble on clues to the murder of Emotionless’s family 15 years ago. While investigating the case, the constables discover facts about their past, facts they preferred to keep hidden, and facts that force them to choose between old grudges and their new lives at the Divine Constabulary. And after a series of bloody battles confront them as the case unfolds, an undeniable fact becomes clear – even if they survive this storm, a bigger one is brewing just over the horizon.
