Korean Actress Ha Ji Won Shares Her Beauty Tips!

How does Korean actress Ha Ji Won stay in shape despite her hectic schedules you might ask?
In addition to ‘yogurt, nuts and fruits’, she recommends doing weights as well. Find out more after the jump!
For the 36-year-old actress, keeping in shape is important but when she doesn’t have the time to catch on her beauty sleep or keep up with her exercise routine, she makes sure her food diet is on the right track.
“For that four to six months that I was involved in the drama (Empress Ki), I didn’t have much sleep as we filmed all night. The only way to improve my complexion or health for that matter, was to focus a lot on my diet,” said Ha at the press conference held at Conrad Centennial Hotel last Friday.
“I ate a lot of nuts, fruits and yogurt. My mother made lunchbox for me too!”
When asked about her nickname ‘Muscle Queen’, Ha smiled shyly and recommended women to do more weights as it made her ‘feel healthy and young’, sharing “I feel that if you do more weights, you can lift up your hips more. You can see the difference!”
“I will try to show the healthy side of me… something that is healthy and not superficial. A little more natural.”
She enjoys filming action-themed films, and was hooked to it when she filmed the drama ‘Damo’ in 2003. “The director asked me to take up rhythmic gymnastics for that role… it was really fun, so I think I took that first approach to action roles made it really fun and exciting. Also, that is something I can be good at and I really enjoyed the experience,” she continued.
Though she may usually portray tomboy-like characters on screen, deep down Ha is actually very ladylike.
“If you talk to my ex-schoolmates or high school mates, they will know that I am nowhere near all the roles that I am usually on TV because I am not a tomboy. I used to be a quiet girl and most probably the most feminine one among all my friends.... But this is something I want to do as a career, something I can be and I’m very glad.”
Empress Ki is currently airing on VV Drama (StarHub TV Channel 855), every Monday to Friday at 5.45pm. It is also screening on VV Drama On Demand (StarHub TV Channel 857).
