Chapman To is no stranger to comedic roles having fronted many comedies like ‘SDU: Sex Duties Unit’, ‘Vulgaria’ and ‘Black Comedy’, and is no wonder why the younger co-stars feel nervous to act alongside this veteran actor.

23-year-old Venus Wong admits to feeling stressed when she first heard that she will be acting with To and Lee, but thanked To for ‘lightening the mood on set’.

“Initially I was afraid but I know that I shouldn’t let that affect me too much because this is a very light-hearted movie. The viewers can tell if I’m too stressed or nervous,” Wong said.

Malaysian actor-singer Adrian Tan who have always admired To shared he often observes him on set, describing the Hong Kong actor as a very ‘incredible and talented’ person.

Chen “You won’t see him carrying his script around, usually only a piece of paper. He’ may seem very relaxed and all but every time when come together to discuss a scene, he is actually more prepared than anyone else there. He knows everything at the back of his hand!”

King of Mahjong is the first collaboration between To and Mark Lee, where both comedy kings seems to hit it off from the start. Spotting a great chemistry (even in the movie) together, To revealed that he enjoys working with Lee.

He explains: “There are two kinds of actors: One are those who will give it their all for the good of the movie; and the other group of actors are those who are eager to compete.

Some actors don’t look at the big picture as they are preoccupied with the intention to fight for screen time. On the contrary, if you have the mindset of just ‘having fun’ on set, the effect and outcome on screen will be much better… and Mark is one of those who place the movie before himself.”
