Hal Hartley's 'Ned Rifle' to Screen at The Projector!

The third and final film of Hal Hartley's 'Grim Family Saga' trilogy 'Ned Rifle', starring Aubrey Plaza and Liam Aiken will be screening at The Projector this May as part of the specially curated films in 2015.
Nearly 20 years ago, director-writer Hal Hartley began his trilogy with ‘Henry Fool’ in 1996 followed by 2006 ‘Fay Grim’, which starred Parker Posey. For fans or filmgoers who have been looking forward to catch his final installment of the trilogy, don't miss the screening at The Projector this May!
For those are are unfamiliar with Hartley, just like this writer here, I found myself admiring this unique auteur as the film plays; his certain quirk in the way he tells his story, the deliberate artificial performances from the actors and the offbeat, deconstructed interaction among the characters. His crisp, short back-and-forth dialogue was what intrigued me the most - something you’ll see more often in stage plays compared to films, but the use of simple mid-shots give ample space for the cast to play out the stony humour and reactions.
(More info about the film's screening at The Projector)
There’s so much to love and adore in this delightfully offbeat tale, the final chapter joined by Aubrey Plaza who plays the mysterious femme fatale Susan who hits the road with Ned (Liam Aiken) in search of his father, Henry, to seek revenge for this mother’s fate in prison. Unbeknownst to him, Susan hides a secret agenda to search for Henry.
[Synopsis]
Henry and Fay's son Ned sets out to find and kill his father for destroying his mother's life. But his aims are frustrated by the troublesome Susan, whose connection to Henry predates even his arrival in the lives of the Grim family.
