(1965, Fantastic Four, Pixels)
The year 1965 holds a special meaning to many Singaporeans - the day we gained independence as a nation and how we are fondly reminded of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The movie is directed by Randy Ang and stars Joanne Pei, Sezairi Sezali, Deanna Yusoff, James Seah and Qi Yuwu.
The Fantastic Four reboot didn’t come easy. Despite the numerous backlash on the casting and new direction of the movie, 20th Century Fox promises the film to be one of the biggest films of 2015.
Artificial intelligence robots taking over the world? Check. Aliens from outer space invading Earth? Check. Many of the same themes have been overused in Hollywood, but Pixels gives a fresh take on a bunch of classic game character seeking revenge on humankind.
(Disney/Pixar's Inside Out, Hitman: Agent 47, Maze Runner: Scorch Trails)
There is much buzz going around about this animation film - many who have seen it, loved it and some even calling it an ‘Oscar’ contender. With voices from Amy Poehler, Diane Lane, Mindy Kaling, Kyle McLachlan and Bill Hader, our ‘excitement emotion’ inside us is acting up real bad.
Partly why this movie makes it to our top 15 list is because you will be able to see parts of Singapore’s skyline (and loads of blue taxis) featured in this action-thriller! Yup! Lead actors Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto, together with the crew came to Singapore last year to film this movie.
The Scorch Trials picks up where The Maze Runner left off. The surviving Glader gang thought they escaped the Maze for good to realise that they are thrown into a desert which is just as scary and a whole lot hotter.
(Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Star Wars: The Force Awakens)
The eagerly-awaited James Bond movie franchise ‘Spectre’ is set to release worldwide this November! Daniel Craig returns as agent 007, sets on a quest to uncover a sinister organisation while M (Ralph Fiennes) battles political forces that want to shut down the British secret service.
Part 1 ended with a cliffhanger, which pretty much left us wanting more of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) fighting against the Capitol, and her ultimate decision of whether to choose Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) or Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth).
Need we say more? This. This will probably be one of the best movies to end the year with.
