Singapore Film Society launches Film Festival Guide!

Do you know that there are currently 44 active film festivals that take place annually in Singapore?
I bet you don't.
Singapore Film Society's Marketing Director Sherman Ho said: “Singapore Film Society has been organising and partnering film festivals for decades, and we realise that there’s no one portal where all the information on film festivals can be found. The guide serves as a channel for film lovers to discover the latest updates in this vibrant film festival scene.”
Serving as a convenient resource for film lovers, key information from various film festivals such as dates, venues and prices are consolidated in the guide.
Ho elaborated that the guide goes beyond being a one-stop platform for film buffs. “The guide also allows organisers to plan their festival dates and programmes,” added Ho.
By referencing the guide, the hope is that curators can also better plan festivals by avoiding conflicts in festival dates. The guide also provides opportunities for collaboration such as by identifying common themes.
Emerging film festivals can also indicate their interest on being featured on the guide.
With SFS celebrating its 60th anniversary, the timely launch of the festival guide highlights the society’s enduring vision of being a hub for film festivals and events in Singapore.
Ho added: “As we are a non-profit organisation, we encourage people to support this initiative by signing up for our Film Addict membership to enjoy discounts to over half of the film festivals in Singapore!”
The next upcoming film festival is the Italian Film Festival, which will run from 31 May to 9 June. Check out what films are showing at the festival here:
