Country Music Icon Kenny Rogers Has Passed Away Peaceful At The Age Of 81

Everyone’s beloved country musician, with legendary hits like “Lady” and “The Gambler”, Kenny Rogers has passed last night. The Grammy-award artist’s career lasted more than six decades and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013. In an official statement from the Rogers family, it detailed his cause and time of death: 
 

"The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family."


Throughout Kenny’s career, he recorded 65 albums and sold more than 165 million records. To remember him, Kenny Rogers’ friends and contemporaries have already addressed his passing on social media. Singer and long-time collaborator Richard Marx was devastated:
 

Former President George W. Bush has sent a sweet message to his late pal Kenny Rogers through his Instagram: 
 
And Dolly Parton, co-writer to the iconic hit“Islands in the Stream,” shared a video message via twitter commemorating the man she called a “true friend”:
