Eric Khoo’s Food Lore & Ler Jiyuan’s Invisible Stories Win Awards at Inaugural ContentAsia Awards

The inaugural ContentAsia Awards was held in Singapore today, 28 August and was streamed online on their Facebook page. The ContentAsia Awards are owned and operated by ContentAsia, a 14-year-old information platform curated to offer insights into Asia’s content environment.
HBO Asia’s Food Lore and Invisible Stories won three awards collectively, while CNN International had two wins and Cartoon Network bagged one award.
Food Lore
, HBO Asia’s eight-episode, hour-long, gastronomical series helmed by Singapore’s Eric Khoo, won two awards: The Best Asian Drama for a Regional/International Market category, while Erik Matti, the director of the Philippines episode Food Lore: Island of Dreams, won the Best Director of a Scripted TV Programme award.
Invisible Stories
helmed by Singaporean Ler Jiyuan, won the Best Drama Series/Telefilm Made for a Local Asian Market award. Each of the six half-hour episodes shines light into dark corners and tells untold stories of residents navigating through everyday life and its challenges from the heartlands.
The Best Animated Kids TV Programme went to Cartoon Network’s
Monster Beach
- It Cone From Outer Space. In this award-winning episode, the cone Mutt wears around his head to stop him from scratching picks up radio signals and he realizes he has to save Monster Beach from an impending alien invasion.
