The Diam Diam Era stars Mark Lee 李国煌, Richie Koh 许瑞奇, Danny Lee 李博翔, Meixin Macy 美心, Henry Thia 程旭辉, Wang Lei 王雷, Yap Hui Xin 叶慧馨, Regina Lin 林昀憓, Suhaimi Yusof and Silvarajoo Prakasam.
The film, directed by Jack Neo sees the growth of Singapore from 1979 till the 1980s where Singaporeans saw some great changes in their lifestyles. The film is the follow up to Neo’s ‘Long Long Time Ago’ (2016) where it continues the story of the Lim family.
[Synopsis]
Through the experiences and tribulations of the 2nd Generation of Zhao Di’s and Ah Kun’s family, the audiences will walk through the same great changes in Singapore's environment and lives that the characters went through.
The film focuses on Ah Kun’s son Yong Xin and Zhao Di’s son Shun Fa. It explores the attitudes, life views and differences between the young generation, their different reactions and treatment of policies implemented in Nation Building from the founding of Singapore to the present, modern developed country.
The Diam Diam Era
is rated PG13 and opens InCinemas 26 November, with sneaks from 20-22 Nov.
