The scaryfest this October is nearing. Start your spooky treats with "Malignant"! Conjuring” universe architect, James Wan (“Aquaman,” “Furious 7”), returns to his roots with this original horror thriller, “Malignant”, streaming on HBO GO from 24 October!
For all Horror fans, or moviegoers loving James Wan's style, “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2” which were also directed by James Wan, are both available on HBO GO.
In “Malignant”, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.

Wan, who directed, produced and wrote the film, said, “I love the gritty horror-thriller genre, and after many years away from it, I felt it was time to return to my indie roots, to the harder-hitting horror-thrillers of “Saw” and “Death Sentence.” After “Aquaman” and between the “Conjuring” Universe movies and the “Insidious” films, I felt like I needed to cleanse my palate and step outside of the superhero and ghostly arenas to try something different. This was very important for me. To do something original. Something bold. “Malignant” is very much inspired by the kind of movies that I grew up loving. One that is a loving throwback to the '80s and early '90s style of horror-thrillers.”
Malignant stars Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (YouTube’s “Impulse,” TV’s “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (TV’s “Containment”), Michole Briana White (TV’s “Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” TV’s “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (TV’s “Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”).
Besides “Malignant”, George Young is also in the HBO Asia Original horror min-series “Grace” on HBO GO. In the mood for more horror movies?
