National Geographic Channel: Uncover the mystery of the Titanic sinking!

In 1997, Oscar-winning director James Cameron thrilled the world with his epic portrayal of the unsinkable legend: Titanic.

A century after she sank, National Geographic Channel goes beyond the fiction to reveal the facts behind this timeless story. Over two special nights, National Geographic Explorers James Cameron, Bob Ballard and historian, Tim Maltin, will shine a new light on an old mystery.

Titanic’s director James Cameron made headlines on his recent dive into the Marianas Trench. Now follow the National Geographic Explorer behind the scenes in his two-hour premiere special, Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron, premiering on 8th April 2012 at 10pm, as the National Geographic Channel (NGC) and Cameron bring together some of the world’s leading Titanic experts, including engineers, naval architects, artists and historians, to solve the lingering mysteries of why and how an “unsinkable” ship sank.

Robert Ballard (Bob Ballard) discovered the Titanic’s final resting ground in Newfoundland more than 25 years ago. Ballard, host of Saving The Titanic with Bob Ballard, premiering on 8th April at 9pm, will sound the people on whether they want the Titanic to be preserved as an artifact and as a constant reminder of the great tragedy or just let it fade away with nature?

Different myths arose to provide reasons to the great tragedy where an approximate 1,800 people went down with the world’s largest ship. Tim Maltin, host of Titanic: Case Closed, premiering on 9th April at 10pm, is about to debunk these myths in the 1½ hour documentary of how the Titanic sank.

Programme Schedule (National Geographic Channel):

Saving The Titanic with Bob BallardSunday 8 April  9PM
Titanic: The Final Word with James CameronSunday 8 April  10PM
Titanic: Cased ClosedMonday 9 April 10PM

Be sure to catch these exciting programmes on the National Geographic Channel this weekend!
