shnit (pronounced shee-nit) International Shortfilmfestival 2012, an annual film event started in Switzerland since 2003 expanded its competition of entries in festival style in 10 continents at the same time this year which include Berne, Cologne, San José, Vienna, Cape Town and Singapore.
Held from Wednesday to Saturday (3 Oct to 6 Oct 2012) at The Screening Room (12 Ann Siang Road), Singapore is the first Asia country participating and will exhibit more than 60 film entries from around the world fighting for amazing cash prizes totaling approximately USD $100,000. In this second year in Singapore, the festival is organised with in-kind support from Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore and Sinema.
“I hope Singapore would be a good shnit festival playground to share the most exciting short films from all over the world, especially to Singapore film and media personnel. I’m proud to be able to bring this festival to Singapore, the first Asia country participating.”, says Sharon Jing Yi, Festival Manager of the festival playground in Singapore and a film programmer with Sinema.
