The list of nominations for the 85th Academy Awards was announced last Thursday and we have here an overview of the movies nominated for Best Pictures, which you would want to watch on the big screen before the Oscars® in February. After winning the Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director in the 70th Golden Globes award, Ben Affleck's Argo is now up back on the big screen at Shaw Lido for those who have yet caught the award-winning movie in theatres.

Jennifer Lawrence has won the Golden Globe Best Actress in Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical. With 8 Oscar nominations, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Directing and Best Picture of the Year, Silver Linings Playbook is one romantic comedy-drama that you wouldn't want to miss this year! Not nominated in the Best Pictures but has garnered several Oscars nominations nevertheless is The Master, an American drama written, directed, and co-produced by Paul Thomas Anderson. There are Joaquin Phoenix for Best Actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman for Best Supporting Actor and Amy Adams for Best Supporting Actress. The Master opens InCinemas 24 January 2013. Let's not forget about Naomi Watts with a Best Actress Nomination in The Impossible, now showing in theatres.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Oscar® Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®.
