The Trailer for 'Alien: Covenant' is Pure Sci-fi Terror

If ‘Prometheus’ mostly feels more like a sci-fi adventure, its sequel ‘Alien: Covenant’ seems to embrace the horror roots of the franchise again.

For the uninitiated, both films are part of the ‘Alien’ franchise. ‘Prometheus’ starts a prequel series that will eventually link up to the very first ‘Alien’ film. ‘Alien: Covenant’ is set ten years after its predecessor.

The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

This trailer shows us a character from ‘Prometheus’, the android David (Michael Fassbender).

We also see Katherine Waterston, most recently seen as Porpentina Goldstein in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', as a terraforming expert, Daniels. Will Daniels be the new Ellen Ripley?

The film clearly has its fair share of aliens terrorizing the Covenant crew.

The end of the trailer shows a glimpse of a familiar face.

What are you looking forward to see in this film?

‘Alien: Covenant’ opens in theatres 18 May 2017.
