The queen of soul gets a new trailer!

Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will be portraying Aretha Franklin, in an upcoming biopic of the Queen of Soul. The film is aptly titled Respect, after the late singer's 60s hit single of the same name.

Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, Respect is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.

Directed by Liesl Tommy, the film also stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Marc Maron, Tate Donovan, Tituss Burgess and newcomer Sky Dakota Turner.

Respect is set to open in cinemas February 2021 so you best be ready!
