Zendaya and John David Washington Romance Each Other in Netflix’s ‘Malcolm & Marie’ Trailer

Zendaya stars as John David Washington’s lover in Sam Levinson's drama Malcolm & Marie, set for release on Netflix on February 5.
The film was shot last September with the production team going to great pains to keep the set in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols and gain the approval of Hollywood unions.
Levinson, known for creating the HBO series Euphoria, wrote the script and produced the picture in addition to directing it. Levinson and Zendaya previously worked together on Euphoria, which the actress won the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for. Washington on the other hand starred in one of 2020's highly anticipated films, Christopher Nolan's Tenet and a Spike Lee joint, BlacKkKlansman, back in 2018.
