'
Wonder
', the film adaptation of R. J. Palacio's best-selling novel has gotten its first trailer. Take a look below!
Based on the 2012 novel of the same name, 'Wonder' tells the heartwarming story of Auggie Pullman (Jacob Tremblay), a boy born with facial differences, as he enters school for the first time and encounters both friends and bullies.
In this first trailer, we see Auggie turn up to school on his first day wearing an astronaut's helmet. But once his dad (Owen Wilson) takes it off, Auggie is left with nothing to shield himself from the curious looks of other kids. At school, Auggie is faced with some bullies. "Look at his face! Never seen anything so ugly in my life," says one of them. But his parents are always there for him every step of the way. In one emotional scene, Auggie's mother (Julia Roberts) reaasures her crying son, "You are not ugly... Because I'm your mom, it counts the most, because I know you the most". Auggie also meets friends and teachers who genuinely care and eventually help him realise that "you can't blend in when you were born to stand out".
