Ellen Page and Diego Luna Explore Afterlife in New Trailer of 'Flatliners'!

What happens after we die? In the new film ‘Flatliners’, directed by Niels Arden Oplev from a screenplay by Ben Ripley, a group of medical students explores the equation of mortality with a dangerous experiment where they stop their hearts for a short period of time.

The film is a sequel to the 1990 thriller of the same name, which was previously played by Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon.

The first trailer starts off as an intriguing lead-in to the inquisitiveness of the bunch of students who share their first-hand accounts of their brief period of the afterlife, but as their experiments get bolder and increasingly dangerous, they find themselves haunted by the sins of their pasts, experiencing hallucinations and paranormal consequences that put their real lives in danger. The tone of the film gets darker and more terrifying as it plays out to be one hell of a chilling ride.

The film stars Ellen Page, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev and Kiersey Clemons, together with Kiefer Sutherland – who starred in the 1990 original – will reprise his role as Dr. Nelson Wright.
