Pacific Rim 2 Trailer debuts at New York Comi-Con

We got a look at the first Pacific Rim: Uprising Official Trailer at New York Comic Con.

The trailer features lead actor John Boyega as he joins a new generation of Jaeger pilots. Events of Pacific Rim: Uprising takes place a decade after Pacific Rim. The Jaeger program has evolved into the world's most powerful global defense force. Jake Pentecost (Boyega), son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), reunites with Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat as humanity faces extinction once again.

Other than a new lead, the trailer also shows Jaeger vs Jaeger and Jaeger vs Kaiju fights, and oh yes like every Kaiju movie - Japan getting destroyed (again). Guillermo del Toro will not be returning to the series with Steven S. DeKnight taking over as director.

Pacific Rim: Uprising opens in cinemas on 29 March, 2018.
