Fabrika: It's A Great Great World DVD Launch

On 24 August 2011, Fabrika commemorated its first year anniversary with an exclusive celebration in conjunction with the DVD launch of "It's A Great Great World", which the party is themed after. A ticketed post-party took place following the event and saw 154 revelers partied through the night along the southern fringe of the Central Business District, on Level 17 of klapsons, The Boutique Hotel.

Invited guests and media came together to celebrate the first anniversary of Fabrika at a private gathering, which also saw director Kelvin Tong launched the DVD of “It’s A Great Great World” at its namesake event from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

“We wanted to thank our guests for their continuous support over the past one year with this celebration. We are constantly striving to come up with new ideas to engage our regulars and attract new consumers, and this anniversary allowed us to explore and experiment with an alternative theme,” said Ms Anna Tong, General Manager, klapsons, The Boutique Hotel.

Themed after the local movie, “It’s A Great Great World” and the legendary Great World Amusement Park, Fabrika entertained guests with an enthralling repertoire that brought them from the 1940s to 2011, featuring Imelda Teo, and Fabrika’s resident performers – DJ Samurai, DJ Knives and soulful songbird, Alicia Pan. Party guests also indulged in nostalgic game booths such as Tikum Tikum, Toss The Coin and Ring In The Bottle.

Produced by MediaCorp Raintree Pictures Pte Ltd, InnoForm Media Pte Ltd and Astro Shaw Sdn Bhd, “It’s A Great Great World” originally ran for nine weeks during Chinese New Year in 2011 and was the top grossing local film in Singapore with S$2.5million ticket sales at the box office.

[Synopsis]
Ah Min (Olivia Ong) visits her grandmother’s photo studio one day before it shuts for good. There, she discovers four old photographs. Intrigued by the people in the photos, Ah Min embarks on a journey to find out who they are. Her first stop – an old friend of her grandmother’s Ah Meng, who reveals through four unforgettable stories that the people in the photos all worked and played at the legendary Great World Amusement Park once upon a time…
