HBO’s Watchmen stars Regina King, featuring a world of masked vigilantes

Watchmen is not your average superhero or anti-hero television series, based on the DC Comics limited series of the same name. Created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, developed by Damon Lindelof for HBO, the show is set in an alternate universe in the United States where masked vigilantes became outlawed due to their violent methods. Some gather around in order to start a revolution while others are out to stop it before it is too late. The series will also showcase different points of view of the characters.

King plays Detective Angela Abar, the lead detective of the Tulsa Police Force who wears masks to protect themselves from the mask-wearing vigilantes - who are known as their 7th Calvary - from raiding their homes.

The series is set to premiere on October 21, 2019 with nine episodes for its first season.
