Power Rangers Discover Their Powers In New Trailer

Lionsgate releases an official teaser trailer to the upcoming Power Rangers movie, which all 90’s kids who grew up with the series are looking forward to. At over 2 minutes, it is definitely longer than what is usually considered a teaser.

This trailer fleshes their background a bit as bullied high school students. It shows how they came across a meteor rock, obtained the Power Coins, and discovered their newfound superpowers. We also get a glimpse of Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa and a kiss between the red ranger Jason (Dacre Montgomery) and the pink ranger Kimberly (Naomi Scott).

Most importantly, we get to see Jason transforming into his Ranger suit at the end. But you already know that from the picture. This trailer reveals a lot, doesn’t it? Watch the trailer below:

With any luck, we may get to see Zordon (Bryan Cranston), Alpha 5 (Bill Hader), and the Zords in the next trailer.

Rita Repulsa told Kimberly that she has “killed Rangers before.” This means that our heroes here are not the first group of people who take the mantle. Who has come before them? Exploring this mythology in the film might be interesting.

After criticisms from fans after the Iron Man-like Ranger costumes were revealed, this trailer confirms that the film will indeed to be a vast departure from the more campy and lighthearted series that we loved as children.
