Lionsgate has announced that it will stream
The Hunger Games
,
La La Land
,
John Wick
and
Dirty Dancing
for free on YouTube on the next four Friday nights, starting from April 17.
Dubbed
Lionsgate Live! a Night at the Movies
,
the weekly event is a star-studded celebration of the theatrical filmgoing experience hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis who will share her own movie memories as she is joined by celebrities and YouTube personalities in a live broadcast.
The programme benefits the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, dedicated to helping people who work in the motion picture industry and currently providing financial assistance to theater employees furloughed by the COVID-19 crisis.
The viewing of
The Hunger Games
will start at 6pm ET on April 17 (6am, April 18 - Singapore time). Subsequently,
Dirty Dancing
will screen on April 24, followed by
La La Land
on May 1 and
John Wick
on May 8.
The programme has the support of Fandango, National Association of Theatre Owners, AMC Theatres, Regal and Cinemark Theatres.
