New Detective Pikachu Trailer Introduces Lots more Pokemons

Ryan Reynolds is known for his R-rated antics as the anti-superhero, Deadpool. This time, he’s trading his red-and-black suit for a yellow furry outlook, playing the pokemon, Pikachu in the upcoming ‘Detective Pikachu’.

The live action-animation hybrid adventure tells the story of the unconventional pair - Pikachu and Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), as their work together to find out the truth behind the disappearance of Goodman’s father, Harry. They team up to chase clues through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City, a sprawling metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side.

While there isn’t much footage in the new trailer in terms of the storyline, it provides more glimpses of the various Pokemons featured in the movie. If you watch carefully, there are more than 20 pokemons featured in this trailer, including Ludicolo, Charizard, Snorlax, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Machamp, Gengar and that’s right, the mighty Mewtwo. Mewtwo is the powerful psychic Pokemon that was the villain of the first animated Pokemon movie - though it isn’t confirmed that it will be the big bad in this remake.

How many Pokemons can you spot in this poster?

Detective Pikachu opens InCinemas 9 May 2019!
